1.) When exactly you become agent?
I started my journey already in 2012 when I did scouting, recruitment and management of players for a established Swedish agency in Stockholm for four years. After that I registered myself in the UK as an intermediary in December 2015 as I had moved to London a year earlier. Today I am in addition registered as an intermediary in Denmark and Finland.
2.) Biggest achievements during your agent career till now?
Together with my business partner Soleon Sports Management creating a small organisation consisting of eight people currently that are based in various countries such as Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Ukraine and Iran. We are two agents and six scouts that are working as a team and have a portfolio of 20 players today playing in first and second tier in Europe. All of this has happened within 2 years and we are still growing as an organisation and the player portfolio.
3.) Which countries you prefer for cooperation? Why?
We are open to work in all countries where we see that there is a good value proposition for the clubs and players we deal with. We always prefer to work in countries where we have our own people or trusted partners as that will give re-assurance to players and clubs.
4.) What kind of players you would like to have in your portfolio? How many players is in your portfolio?
We want to work with players that see no limit in how good they can become and therefore push to play at the highest level. We as an agency have the ambition to identify and represent the “right” players which means strong mentality, hard working on and off the pitch and passionate about what they do.
We have currently 20 players in our portfolio spread out in countries such as Denmark, Austria, Finland, Ukraine, Estonia, Sweden and Iran.
5.) What is your biggest transfer till now? Player and team?
Shahab Zahedi to Olimpik Donetsk in the Ukrainian Premier League.
6.) Is there any key to become succesful agent?
I believe like anything else you have the aspirations to become it requires dedication, commitment, discipline and a big portion of patience. In addition curiosity and hunger to learn more.
However the most important thing is to understand WHY you want to become something or do something. Why is it important and what is the satisfaction from the result that makes you want to get up from bed every morning. If that is not clear then everything above that I have mentioned becomes more difficult to find.
In my case I have always wanted to work in the football industry as I always knew this was my pathway since younger ages. My interest to become an agent started already when I was studying in University as I found it very motivating to help footballers making the right decision in their career to maximise their ability and succeed on and off the pitch.
Since this has been a challenge due to the view of agents for a long time my motivation and why came from changing that landscape and also impact the view of agents as we do play an important role for players and clubs.
7.) What’s your next goal in near future what you did not achieve yet in your career?
The short term goal is to ensure that all of our clients that are in need to change clubs this summer achieves that and ends up in the right club and environment. We have at least 10 players to move this summer and this is our highest priority short term.
Long term is about continuing growing as an agency and expand to new untapped markets and territories. In addition continue to find new partners so we can offer and look after our players and their families in all aspects of their lives.
also If there is anything you would like to mention and we did not asked…feel free to write…
There are a lot of people who usually gets in touch with us and shows an interest in joining our agency on the staff side and the best advice I can give is to always come with value. What can you offer us today that we don’t have and what would be the outcome of that. That way you will stand out more and increase your chances of finding what you look for. In addition look at it as a long term project where you invest your time and effort in to something you are passionate about and the return will come in a couple of years.
